Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is launching a new website to give potential applicants a view of what it is like to work for the British Intelligence Services.

GCHQ is based in Cheltenham, so to attract staff from far afield the organisation intends to use the site to promote benefits such as flexible working.

The intelligence and security organisation is closely involved with MI5 and MI6 and is offering vacancies in IT and engineering and recruiting both experienced candidates and graduates.

The organisation intends to exploit new avenues in digital recruitment such as digital displays across London Underground and placing advertisements on social networking sites such as Bebo and MSN Messenger.

A spokesman from GCHQ said: "Our campaign needs to reach out to a wide and diverse pool of candidates. By combining new technology, digital channels and traditional media we hope to attract the highly-skilled and well-motivated people we need."

The recruitment campaign has been designed and managed by recruitment communications provider TMP Worldwide.
